Kanalyran - The Festival of Mellerud

Kanalyran has been running for more than 40 years, mostly during the first weekend in July each year. It is a festival that embraces most of central Mellerud, and combines music with other activities, like veteran car exhibitions, funfair attractions and a market. One of the features is a food and drink marquee in the market place.

This year´s programme:

Thursday 30 June
1900-2300 The Marquee open. Musik starts at 2000. She May and Monee Bizness are playing.

Friday 1 July
1400-1600 Children's activities. Parade, sing-along and circusperformance.
1600 Agricultural show with cows
Evening from 1900:
* The Marquee open. Keps Band plays.
* Dancing. Bengt Henning plays.
* Youth activities at Club Stinsen, down by the railway station.

Saturday 2 July
Daytime: Exhibitions (cars, agricultural), car boot sale, strongman competition and more.
Music on the main stage:
1100 Religious songs
1230 Talent competition for 10-16-years-olds with live backing band.
1340 Emelie Rose Band. Soul music with 7-man-band.
1510 Biker Groove (now called 54321). Covers.
1530 Rebel Road. Country rock with local group often played on American radio.
Evening from 1900. Marquee open. Music by Hub Caps (rockabilly), Rebel Road and Biker Groove.
